Kiwi golfing sensation Lydia Ko isn’t the only New Zealand golfer in the lead going into the weekend’s golf overseas, Steve Alker has joined her too.

Lydia Ko will enjoy being on top of the leaderboard at the Marathon LPGA Classic on the LPGA Tour. She’s fired rounds of 64 and 65 to be 13-under for the tournament and will enjoy a one-shot lead as she heads into the weekend.

The Kiwi star has shown signs of the form she knows she’s capable of, finishing in a tie for 28th at last week’s LPGA Drive On Championship. She’s continued to get better a week later and has made an incredible 17 birdies through her opening two rounds.

Nipping at her heels is England’s Jodi Ewart Stadoff just one back, while her good friend and last week’s winner Danielle Kang sits two shots back.

Ko gets underway for round three at 6.55am on Sunday.

Meanwhile on the Korn Ferry Tour, Steve Alker is joined up the top of the WinCo Foods Portland Open by Charlie Saxon.

The pair are both nine-under for the event and one-shot clear of the chasers.

Alker has carded rounds of 68 and 65, with his second round being blemish free.

He tees off at 9.10 on Sunday morning for round three.

Danny Lee has also made the cut in the first major championship of the year; The PGA Championship.

He’s even-par for the championship and in a tie for 43rd place after rounds of 69 and 71, and is eight shots back of leader Haotong Li.

He tees off at 5.10am tomorrow alongside reigning Open Champion Shane Lowry.

The big-hitting Ryan Fox is the final New Zealander to make the cut this weekend.

He’s fired consecutive rounds of four-under to be in a share of 23rd spot on the leaderboard and is six shots back.

His third round gets underway at 10.20 tonight.
