WILKINSON THREE SHOTS BACK ON THE PGA TOUR

13/09/2020

Tim Wilkinson remains in touching distance of the leaders after moving day at the season-opening Safeway Open on the PGA Tour.

Wilkinson carded a third round four-under 68 alongside his opening 67 and 68 to be 13-under for the tournament, three shots back of Brian Stuard, James Hahn, and Cameron Percy who sit atop the leaderboard.

He came out the gates quickly with birdies in four of his opening five holes. The rest of his round was uneventful, making 13 straight pars to finish his round.

With this being the first event of the PGA Tour’s 2020/21 season, Wilkinson has the opportunity to earn some big FedEx Cup points early in the season.

He gets underway at 8 o’clock tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile on the Korn Ferry Tour, Nick Voke fell three spots on moving day at the Evans Scholars Invitational after a third round of one-under par to sit at nine-under for the tournament. He’s six shots back of American Curtis Thompson.

He made an early bogey at the second before birdies at the sixth and nineth to make the turn at one-under par. He gave a shot back on the 10th to fall back to even par for the day with eight holes to play.

Voke made two birdies to finish on the 14th and 18th holes with a bogey on the 16th to sign for a one-under par round.

He gets underway at 3.16am tomorrow for his fourth and final round.

At the LPGA Tour’s second major of the year, the ANA Inspriation, Lydia Ko has bounced back in round three to shoot a three-under 69 to get to four-under for the tournament.

Ko remains eight shots back of Nelly Korda and Brooke Henderson who have taken the lead going into the final round.

A bogey at the first didn’t deter Ko as that was the only blemish on her scorecard. She went onto make four birdies at the third, nineth, 11th and 17th holes to climb 15 spots into a tie for 21st.

She tees off at 3.18 tomorrow morning.

Finally, Ryan Fox has gone the wrong direction on moving day at the Portugal Masters on the European Tour.

After opening with rounds of 67 and 69 to be six-under for the tournament, Fox shot a third round of four-over to fall down 37 places on the leaderboard into a share of 49th.

He tees off at 7.55 tonight for his final round.
