AUCKLAND LOOK TO CONTINUE THEIR DOMINANCE AT NEW ZEALAND WOMEN'S INTERPROVINCIALS

2/12/2019

Auckland are looking to capture their 26th New Zealand Women’s Interprovincials trophy at Maraenui Golf Club in the Hawkes Bay this year and appear to be favourites to do just that.

Auckland have selected a side that average just 15-years in age which includes Vivian Lu, Fiona Xu, last year’s number one and captain Carmen Lim, Angela Ju, Grace Jung and Rianne Li. They’ll look to replicate what the Auckland province has managed to achieve for the last seven of eight years as they’ve created their own dynasty at this event.

North Harbour are a side that will look to stop Auckland’s run of victories at the tournament.

The side north of the Harbour Bridge last won the event in 2010 when Lydia Ko led them to a famous victory at Mirimar. The team of Anna An, Vaha Fapiano, Eunseo Choi, Yeonsoo Son, Danika Lee, and Amy Im are looking to add a new name to the trophy in 2019.

Bay of Plenty and Canterbury will also loom as threats to contend for the event come finals day on Saturday.

Maraenui Golf Club has been presented immaculately boasting firm and fast fairways. We expect to see plenty of birdies with an upset or two along the way.
