ASIA-PACIFIC SENIORS TEAM NAMED

13/11/2019

New Zealand Golf have named an exciting team to compete in the Asia-Pacific Seniors Championship held at Sungai Long Golf and Country Club in Malaysia next week.

Two-time defending champion Brent Paterson (Royal Auckland Grange) spearheads the team who’ll compete in the event from November 20th – 22nd. He will be joined by John Batley (Titirangi), Peter Brinsdon (Pegasus), Stu Duff (Hastings), and debutants Craig Newman (Nelson), and Tony Chettleburgh (Feilding).

New Zealand have come runner-up by the narrowest of margins for the last two years straight. Japan beat the Kiwis by a single stroke last year whilst Australia got them by two shots in 2017.

The format is 54-hole individual strokeplay, with the best four of six scores counting after each round. To be eligible for the event you must be 55 years of age or older.

The New Zealand side will be looking to go one place better than the previous two years, and are all excited at the prospect of flying the New Zealand flag on the international stage once again.
