STRONG KIWI CONTINGENT AT NORTHERN TERRITORY PGA

The New Zealand flag is well represented at the Tailor-made Building Services NT PGA Championship at Palmerston Golf Club this week.

Six Kiwi’s are flying the flag in Northern Australia with James Anstiss spearheading the Kiwi contingent as he sits in 32nd on the Australasian Tour Order of Merit. He tees off alongside Australians Tim Hart and Andrew Schonewille at 11.10 this morning.

Michael Long is also looking to make his presence felt this week. The New Zealand stalwart is currently in 75th place in the Order of Merit and will be looking improve on that ranking as we head to the latter part of the season. He tees off at 10.30am.

Mark Hutson and Campbell Rawson both get their Australasian Tour campaigns kick started again. They tee off at 11.20 this morning.

Fraser MacLachlan is the final Kiwi teeing off in the morning field. He gets underway at 11.30am.

Ryan Chisnall rounds out the Kiwi contingent as he tees off this afternoon at 2.55 this afternoon.

Over in America on the Korn Ferry Tour, Steve Alker gets his second event in The Finals 25 underway at the Albertsons Boise Open in Idaho.

Alker needs a good week to put himself back in contention for a PGA Tour Card. He missed the cut last week leaving himself well outside the top 25 players who earn PGA Tour cards through The Finals 25.

He tees off at 2.47am tomorrow.

After a couple of weeks off, Lydia Ko makes her return to the LPGA Tour at the CP Women’s Open in Ontario, Canada.

Ko currently sits in 41st place in the year long LPGA points competition, the Race to CME Globe.

She tees off at 5.15 tomorrow morning.

Michael Hendry also makes his return to the Japan tour this week. He tees it up at the Shigeo Nagashima Invitational Segasammy Cup at The North Country Golf Club.

Hendry’s tee time is 3.20 this afternoon and will be looking to kickstart the latter part of his season with a good result this week. He sits in 62nd place in the Japan Tour Order of Merit.

Also playing in Asia this week is Kieran Muir, Hayden Beard, and Fraser Wilkin on the China Tour at the Huangshan Open.

Muir tees off at 10.50 this morning, with Beard and Wilkin following not too far behind him at 11.25am and 3.55pm respectively.

Josh Geary rounds out the Kiwi’s playing abroad this week. He’s already got his tournament underway at the Rolex Trophy in Switzerland with a first round of two-under par. He sits in a tie for 20th at the end of round one.

His second round tee time is at 10.20 tonight.
