Steve Alker has slipped outside the Korn Ferry Tour’s Final’s series in his quest to earning a PGA Tour card for next year.

Alker missed the cut at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship after rounds of 72 and 74 to finish at four-over par, which left him three shots outside the cut line.

The Hamiltonian is now in a tie for 59th place in The Finals 25, with the top 25 players at the end of the series earning PGA Tour cards for 2020.

Alker will need a solid push in the final two tournaments of The Finals 25 series to make his way into the 25 that earns cards for the PGA Tour.

Also teeing in up on the Korn Ferry Tour this week was Tim Wilkinson.

The Manawatu professional finished with rounds of 75 and 73 leaving him at six-over for the tournament.

He’s playing with the comfort of already having his PGA Tour card for next year locked up after finishing inside The 25 in the regular Korn Ferry Tour season.

The Korn Ferry Finals 25 is an opportunity for Wilkinson to improve his ranking and playing rights for the PGA Tour next year, and like Alker, will need a solid push in the remaining two events to do just that.

Over in Europe on the Staysure Tour, Michael Campbell played in the Scottish Senior Open.

Conditions were brutal with only one player managing to break par for the tournament. That was Scottish Senior Open Champion Paul Lawrie.

Meanwhile Campbell carded rounds of 71, 76, and 76 to finish at 10-over for the event, and sits in 39th place on the Staysure Tour’s Order of Merit.

And on the European Tour, Josh Geary had a rare call up from the European Challenge Tour to compete in the D+D Real Czech Masters.

After a horror first round of a five-over 77, Geary bounced back in round two with a scintillating six-under 66. He’d miss the cut by two strokes.
