WELLINGTON & OTAGO ADVANCE TO FINAL

3/12/2016

After an intense morning at the Toro Interprovincials Wellington and Otago advance through to the final at New Plymouth Golf Club.

Wellington were the first through after a solid victory against North Harbour with their top three playing spectacular golf.

Daniel Hillier and Elton Nicholson won their matched 4&3 to set up the win which which was finished off by Jono Cane who only needed to square his battle. He was two up against Cam Jones and unselfishly decided to concede the final two holes to get the back in the clubhouse earlier.

After losing to Waikato in the past two finals, Otago got their revenge today and advance to yet another Toro Interprovincial grand final.

Led by the two veterans, Chris Snow and Michael Smith got them off to the perfect start with two early victories of 3&1 and 1up respectively.

The match was still live late in the fixture and with Inia Logan somehow managing a brilliant halve in his match against Matt Morris, they then only need one half point which they got through Brendon Hodgson the very next hole.
