Bohyan Park has cruised away to an impressive eight shot victory at the Taranaki Open today.

Heading into the final round with a seven shot lead, 13 year old Park with Dad on the bag, showed no signs of giving it up as she carded a one over par round of 73 to win for the first time on the Jennian Homes Charles Tour.

“My goal today was to go under par, which I just missed out on. But still happy with the round. With the small field I just had to focus on my golf and play consistent,” Park said.

Park, of the Gulf Harbour Country Club had a colourful scorecard as she made her way around the Ngamotu Links golf course with the highlight being an eagle three on the seventh hole.

“I was on the front of the green and was just looking to two putt, but it was very exciting when it went in,” said an excited Park.

Back to back scores of 73 over the weekend showed her consistency which was the backbone in her debut victory.

Park is in good form after winning the North Island U19 Stroke Play only last week at the Waitangi Golf Club and roads seem to be tracking in the right direction.

Next on the calendar Park will be making the trip to the Garden City of Christchurch to compete in the Harewood Open.
