Like many of the world's leading golfing bodies New Zealand Golf run a season-long player ranking (Order of Merit) based on the highest to lowest points on the OOM Calendar. At the end of the season the player who has the highest points is declared the Order of Merit winner. Similar to the PGA Tour OOM, however it is a points system rather than money/prize ranking. Points are allocated to Tournaments dependent on the strength of the field and their ranking within the R & A points ranking system. For more details please click here.
As the premier golfing events in New Zealand, the BMW NZ Men’s Open and ISPS Handa New Zealand Women’s Open Championship provide aspirational playing pathways for New Zealand players and presents significant platforms from which to profile the game of golf.
