The First Tee is a charitable trust that has been operating in New Zealand for nearly ten years. The First Tee is fully endorsed by New Zealand Golf and we are the charity of choice of the NZ Professional Golf Association.
Our certified golf programme, taught at Golf Clubs and Driving Ranges around the country, is an internationally designed curriculum of golf tuition. We provide coaching of all four fundamental golf shots – driving, putting, chipping and pitching as well as undertake timely assessments to chart your child’s progress.
More importantly, our unique programme encourages our nine core values and key life skills through our PLAYER, PAR, BIRDIE and EAGLE levels. All students learn the game of golf from actual experiences on the golf course.
Maintaining a positive attitude, clear communication, setting goals and being challenged to make sound decisions are a few of the life skills participants will also develop.
Classes occur on the same day and time each term for eight to ten weeks. Each class is taken by a specially trained First Tee coach. Our long term aim is to encourage all participants to become full junior members of the Golf Club. Our coaches know first-hand how golf enriches the lives of those that play.
