The First Tee is a charitable trust operated by The Kiwi Kids Life Skills Trust and is a partner of New Zealand Junior Golf.
Programmes offered include school programmes (eight week programmes delivered to students at school during school time), after school programmes and school holiday programmes delivered at host venues (schools, golf clubs, driving range facilities).
All participants in The First Tee programme must acquire certain golf skills and be able to demonstrate certain fundamental life skill concepts before they can move to the next level of the programme. At each level of the program – Player, Par, Birdie and Eagle – members will go through a "Certification Process" which acknowledges the mastery of both the life skills and the golf skills learnt.
The First Tee of New Zealand is based in East Tamaki, Auckland. They are currently looking at expanding their programme throughout New Zealand with a pilot programme being run in Northland and Queenstown.
