DRYLAND & HILLIER FEATURE AT SOUTH AMERICAN AM

16/01/2018

It has been a successful stint at the South American Amateur for our New Zealand players, with Brittney Dryland the feature after finishing in a tie for sixth place.

Dryland who carded rounds of 73, 76, 70 and her best of the week 69, showed her experience in the girls field but wasn’t able to track down eventual winner Miagros Chaves who finished six shots ahead of the Auckland representative.

S
he climbed 15 places in the final round to show her class and consistency at this level.

Charlie Hillier also created some headlines in the boy’s field with his colourful third round of 67 which included eight birdies.

This launched him inside the top five, where he stayed on the final day to complete the week tied fifth with rounds of 70, 72, 67 and 72.

His total of seven-under par for the tournament wasn’t enough to catch Chris Crisologo who finished at 13-under par, even with a quiet final round of 73.

Henry Spring finished with a bang by shooting 68 and rising 11 places to sneak inside the top ten. This made for a good showing from our Kiwi Contigient.
