LYDIA KO FINISHES OUTRIGHT SECOND ON LPGA TOUR

22/10/2017

Lydia Ko’s rise to form has continued after claiming second place at the Swinging Skirts Taiwan Championship on the LPGA Tour this evening.

Ko carded an excellent final round seven-under (65) to finish at 11-under for the tournament. On a regular occasion, this would apply huge pressure on the overnight leader, but Ko finished a remarkable six shots behind runaway winner Eun-Hee Ji.

Ji completed what was a dominant week of golf by also carding 65, to record her third win on the LPGA Tour, and first since 2009.

This week's result is Ko’s fifth straight top 25 finish, and she will be left ruing a second round 74, which meant her fantastic weekend finish was never going to contend with the efforts of Yi.

The 20-year-old carded seven birdies with no bogies in her final round, finishing four shots clear of the large contingent in third place, which included world number one So Yeon Ryu.
