How can Club Managers and PGA Professionals work together to enhance the club?
Every club has a different set up when it comes to their golf requirements. Some may have contracted PGA professionals; others may have their PGA professionals as members of staff. Whatever your structure, for those who are fortunate enough to have PGA professional, ensuring a positive working relationship is important to the growth and the experience that members and guests receive at the club. Before we discuss how club managers and PGA professionals can work together to enhance club outcomes, it’s important to understand why a strong working relationship is so important.”

How your golf club can attract and retain great staff
The job market can be a competitive environment for employers. Employees today come with higher expectations and
are much quicker to move between jobs. It can be a challenging process finding the right person at the right time and then attracting them to join your golf club with a desirable employment package. Non-profits like golf clubs can experience higher than average turnover with staff moving onto other organisations that offer higher remuneration
and reduced workload. While golf clubs may struggle to compete on salary, they have opportunity to compete on the many other advantages of working for a small business.

Are you overseas visitor ready?
“New Zealand, despite, and maybe because of, its remoteness, is at the centre of the golf world today. The stunning architecture of its new courses is the talk of every traveling golfer, and it’s become one of the game’s top destinations,” Jerry Tarde, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Golf Digest. Golf tourism in New Zealand is showing growth year on year, with New Zealand’s latest accolade being identified by The International Association of Golf Tour Operators
(IAGTO) as the top golf destination in the Asia Pacific region. IAGTO is estimated to control over 87% of the golf holiday packages sold worldwide. Golf Tourism in New Zealand’s main focus is the 16 Marquee courses and 24 experience courses, however there are opportunities for all clubs to be overseas (or local) visitor ready.
