KO LOSES NO.1 RANKING

13/06/2017

Lydia Ko is no longer the world number one golfer and will return to action at the Meijer LPGA Classic this week as the new world number two behind Thailand’s very consistent Ariya Jutanugarn.

Ko’s consistency at the peak of world golf will be hard to match after 85 weeks, but Jutanugarn jumped to the top in style with her win at the Manulife LPGA Classic on Monday.

Jutanugarn at the age of 21, becomes the second-youngest player in LPGA history and the third-youngest player, male or female, to reach world number one in the history of professional golf.

This came as no surprise to Ko who has sat out the last three weeks after a well earnt break to recharge ahead of an exciting run of Major Championships.
