Golfers Equipment Assistance Programme (GEAP)

ABOUT GEAP

Golfers Equipment Assistance Programme (GEAP) is a New Zealand Golf established service to serve the interest of golfers throughout New Zealand. It provides compensation for golf equipment that is outside the scope of cover provided by household or personal effects insurance.

GEAP enables golfers nationwide to receive cover for their golfing equipment which was once covered under the redundant MAP Scheme.

For a low premium of just $20.00 (incl. GST) per annum golfers will receive the following benefits:

  • Property Covered
    • Member's golf equipment including but not limited to clubs, bags, trundlers (including handheld, battery powered trundlers), golf shoes, golf apparel, golf umbrellas and the like excluding golf balls and optical wear.
  • Sum Covered
    • $1,000 per member per year
  • Excess
    • $15.00 each and every claim
  • Depreciation
    • Nil for repairs.
    • 10% per annum on replacement of golf equipment.
    • 20% per annum on replacement of golf shoes, apparel and umbrellas.

The individual policy periods will run for 12 months from date of purchase and will be renewed automatically (unless specified).

This is a great benefit for golfers as GEAP provides compensation for damage to golf equipment that is outside the scope of cover provided by household or personal effects insurance. Where there is cover under your household or personal effects insurance the GEAP can cover the excess applicable to a claim under that policy.
