Profile

Te Anau golf professional David Klein has been a consistent performer the past few years on the PGA Tour of Australasia.

He recently had his best result on the tour when he finished third at The Hills in the New Zealand Open of 2014 for the biggest payday of his career.

Klein has enjoyed some success on the local scene. In 2012 he won on The Charles Tour when he defeated Ryan Fox in a playoff to claim the Taranaki Energy Open.

Klein, who was born in Germany and moved to New Zealand when he was seven, is not a big-hitter but he is a consistent ball striker and has a good short game.

He works four months of the year on his parent's farm in Te Anau and the rest of the time competes on the NZ circuit and the PGA Tour of Australasia.
