Profile

Ryan Fox was one of the form Kiwi golfers of the Australasian summer in 2013 and into 2014.
The 25-year-old from Royal Auckland finished tied fifth at the Australian Masters - in world-class company of Adam Scott and Matt Kuchar - and then backed it up with a tie for seventh at the NSW Open.
More recently he finished runner-up at the Queensland PGA Championship to continue his great form in Australia.
He is expected to be a leading contender at the New Zealand Open in Queenstown.
It was a timely turnaround for Fox who was fighting to keep his tour card.
Earlier in the year he won the Jeep Pro-Am in Queensland for the biggest win in his golf career.
Fox enjoyed a dream rookie season as a professional in 2012.
The Aucklander won three times in his maiden year in the pay for play ranks claiming international wins at the Tahiti Open, the Fiji Open and the Martinborough Pro-Am earlier in the year.

He led the New Zealand PGA Order of Merit and was later overtaken by Troy Ropiha.

He began slowly in 2013 before he returned to form by sucessfully defending his Fiji Open title.

Fox turned professional in late 2011 after a distinguished amateur career for New Zealand and saw immediate results finishing fourth in the New Zealand PGA Pro-Am Championship at The Hills.

He credited New Zealand Golf for his success after playing all around the globe for the New Zealand team.

“I am really enjoying professional golf and to be honest it doesn’t feel too different to when I was playing as an amateur. I have to thank New Zealand Golf for that. The international experience they gave me in the past few years has put me in this position where I feel comfortable competing in international events.”

The son of All Black great Grant Fox, Ryan seems to have his old man’s desire to compete on the big stage.
