Cambo endured an up and down season in 2013. He began the season with two top -20 finishes in the United Arab Emirates before missing five cuts in a row.

Whatever happens this year Cambo's place among golfing royalty has already been confirmed.

He joined the golfing elite as a Major Champion in 2005 when he won the US Open Championship after holding off the challenge of World No.1 Tiger Woods at Pinehurst No.2.

The first New Zealander to win a Major since Sir Bob Charles in 1963, his victory prompted wonderful celebrations throughout New Zealand. Parliament was even suspended as the Government watched the drama unfold and he was accorded a Welcome Home Parade in Wellington.

Campbell followed his Major truimph by becoming only the fourth player to win the US Open and the World Match Play Championship in the same year. Not surprisingly, he was named 2005 European Tour Golfer of the Year and given Honorary Life Membership of The European Tour in recognition of his US Open triumph.

Previously honoured in The Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2001 where he received an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit Award for his services to golf. A proud Maori by descent from the Ngati Ruanui tribe on his father's side and Nga Rauru tribe on his mother's and has historical links to Scotland through his great-great-great-grandfather Sir Logan Campbell who emigrated from Edinburgh to New Zealand in 1845.

Michael founded the Michael Campbell Foundation to further his commitment to helping, inspiring and motivating young people.
