Fraser Wilkin 11/28/1987

Royal Auckland amateur Fraser Wilkin has turned around his form in spectacular style in 2012. Wilkin, who joined the Srixon Academy last year, has found a new gear in his game. He confirmed that in fine style when he claimed the 2012 ask>metro Muriwai Open holding off good mate and fellow club-mate Ryan Fox to win by two shots. Wilkin delivered a shot to within a foot on the last hole to seal the title and enjoy the walk up the last. He became only the fifth amateur to win on The Charles Tour. It was one of many highs for the experienced amateur in 2012. He finished runner-up at the New Zealand Stroke Play Championship at Hastings, shot a course record 63 at the Lochiel Golf Club and finished as the leading amateur of the Taranaki Energy Open on the Charles Tour. Wilkin is looking at turning professional next year and on the back of his current form he has renewed belief in his ability.
