NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

The National Development Programme is the pathway that assists young emerging talent from throughout New Zealand to succeed on the international stage. It currently encompasses three levels of age and stage appropriate development. These being the National Junior Training Camps, The Srixon Development Squad and The Srixon Academy. A Rookie Professional Programme is also being developed to support the very best of these players as they transition to the professional ranks. The programme levels are all geared towards a common objective of developing more New Zealand golfers who achieve success at the highest level on the world stage.

This section of the website is dedicated to providing the young emerging talent throughout New Zealand, and those willing to support them, a place to find resources that may assist them as they progress. You will find five skill development categories below; each of which having resource included with more to be added over time. Please feel free to use any of the articles, templates or worksheets to help formulate your own development strategies and plans. ORDER OF MERIT

New Zealand Golf runs a season-long player ranking based on the highest to lowest points on the Order Of Merit (OOM) Calendar. Points are allocated to Tournaments dependent on the strength of the field and their ranking within the R & A points ranking system.

The general information section of the High Performance area of the website holds content relevant to developing golfers, their parents and their coaching support network. There is currently a profile on the US College system and the options available to those players thinking about combining a tertiary education with their on-going golfing development.
