ABOUT DISTRICT ASSOCIATIONS

The members of New Zealand Golf Incorporated are our District Associations.

The country is divided into 15 regions, 10 in the North Island and 5 in the South Island.
 
We are indebted to our District Associations for their help in delivering the game of golf in their area. For some they have a compact region to work within, but there are those such as Otago, Tasman and Waikato that cover a large geographical area and/or have a large number of Golf Clubs to service.
 
Some of the tasks the Districts are responsible for include interclub competition and the rating of golf courses to ensure uniformity and equitable competition through the handicap system. New Zealand Golf is committed to improving capability as this level and acknowledge the importance of having strong District Associations.
