ABOUT NEW ZEALAND GOLF

Golf was first played in New Zealand in 1871 and more formally since 1910 when administration bodies became in to existent. New Zealand Golf is dedicated to developing the game through more kiwis playing more golf with a focus on junior golf programmes, the health of golf clubs and talent development. Our staff is welcoming and professional and available for advice.

ABOUT DISTRICT ASSOCIATIONS

The members of New Zealand Golf Incorporated are our District Associations. The country is divided into 15 regions, 10 in the North Island and 5 in the South Island. We are indebted to our District Associations for their help in delivering the game of golf in their area. Some of the tasks the Districts are responsible for include interclub competition and the rating of golf courses to ensure uniformity and equitable competition through the handicap system.
