New Zealand Golf - Board Member

Position Description

Golf is a sport that is important to New Zealanders with over 500,000 participants.

NZ Golf is the governing body for the sport in New Zealand and responsible for leading the game, growing the game, and supporting the game.

We are at a very exciting stage and NZ Golf is implementing a number of new initiatives to engage juniors and the growing number of casual players. NZ Golf owns a leading club management software technology company and technology underpins all our initiatives.

Applications are invited for Board Members with one appointed and two elected positions to be filled this year. The Board comprises two appointed and six elected members.

Following an internal review of the skills and expertise we require around the board table we are looking for people who can demonstrate skills and experience in four main areas. These are legal, IT, player development & high performance, finance & risk.

We are looking for directors who want to join a professional, experienced and competent Board and to assist NZ Golf continue to be a leading NZ sports organisation.

Ideal Applicant Description

We are looking for individuals who can help us develop new initiatives and products, grow commercial partnerships, increase stakeholder engagement and demonstrate an understanding of the changing dynamics of the sporting and club sector.

Successful applicants will have the ability to provide strategic direction, skills and expertise in one of the fours skill areas we have mentioned and ideally have a demonstrable passion for the game and a wish to contribute to our success going forward.

The voluntary positions are for two and one half year terms. The expected time commitment is in the vicinity of ten to twelve days per annum.

Greenkeeper 2IC – Templeton Golf Club

The Templeton Golf Club is seeking a 2IC to work with the Superintendent to manage our 

18 hole golf course.

We are looking for someone who likes being part of a small team, is self motivated, hard working and is looking to progress their career in the Turf Industry.

The successful Applicant will have completed or nearly completed their Certificate in Turf Management Level 4 and Growsafe qualifications.

-To open up further career pathways and opportunities within our caddy networks for our qualified trainees.
-To establish streamlined and on-going performance indicators and review systems to measure the  achievement of these visions and goals.
