Assistant Course Superintendent and Qualified Greenkeeper

Christchurch Golf Club is the leading golf club in Canterbury. It has an 18-hole layout set in the picturesque undulating land in the east of Christchurch. The club has just finished the rebuilding of its new clubhouse after it was lost in the Canterbury earthquakes. This is an exciting time to be a part of this prestigious club.

The Christchurch Golf Club currently has two positions available for an Assistant Course Superintendent and a Qualified Greenkeeper.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Completed Level 4 National Certificate in Sports Turf Management.
  • Have an ability to work unsupervised and also be able to work within a team. 
  • Aim for continued improvement of their own development.
  • Be reliable and possess a strong work ethic. 
  • Demonstrate sound working knowledge of turf maintenance practices.
  • Competent with a wide range of turf machinery including mowers, sprayers and power equipment.
  • Have an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety and environmental requirements on a Golf Course.
  • Hold a current driver’s licence.
  • Be eligible to work in New Zealand. 

dditional experience that would be advantageous:
  • Grow Safe and Approved Handler Certificates.
  • Knowledge and experience in machinery and irrigation installation and maintenance.
  • Level 5 National Certificate in Sports Turf Management.

The successful applicants will be enthusiastic, have an exceptional work ethic, be punctual, possess good turf knowledge and be able to supervise staff and/or volunteers as required. The main responsibility of this position will be to maintain the golf course and surrounds to the highest possible level. Applicants must be willing to work in all weather conditions. Both of these positions are permanent full-time waged positions, with weekend work on a rotating roster.

St Clair Golf Club is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) as we look to engage a company or individuals to operate their own business. You could be a Professional, a retailer or a business that is a retailer that would be interested in the other areas St Clair Golf Club has to offer to compliment the package.
Nestled on the on the cliffs above Dunedin’s beautiful St Clair Beach, St Clair Golf Club enjoys a spectacular location offering quality golf and world class views of the Pacific Ocean, its beaches and the beautiful city of Dunedin.
St Clair has staged numerous international and national events during its illustrious history. The magnificent course is complemented by equally impressive practice facilities including a driving range, chipping green with practice bunkers and putting green.
Interested parties will have until 5pm on 17th June 2016 to submit their expression of interest documents.
On offer to interested parties is the opportunity to build a profitable and sustainable coaching and/or retail business at one of Otago’s leading and most progressive golf venues. The club will negotiate a contract to suit both parties.
