Nelson Golf Club, the pre-eminent golf club in the top of the South Island, is to appoint a general manager who will lead the development of the club to meet the challenges of the next decade.

Growth of membership and protection of its asset base will be the overriding priority of the general manager.

This 18-hole links has a course superintendent plus a staff of three, a well-managed contracted pro shop with coaching services plus a contracted caterer providing food and beverages for members and outside events.

The board desires that applicants should have some of the following attributes.

· A tertiary qualification in business or management.
· A good understanding of the game of golf.
· Experience in golf club or general club management.
· Experience in marketing and sponsorship generation.
· Leadership, negotiating, problem solving, contract management and team building skills.
· Knowledge or experience in hospitality.

The manager reports to a board of six directors led by the President.

Aorangi Community Golf Manager 

Canterbury Golf are seeking a sport capability and development professional with 
excellent facilitation and communication skills for a Timaru based role that covers the Aorangi Golf district of Mid and South Canterbury.
The Community Golf Manager will be responsible for providing club capability services and golf development initiatives to the Aorangi Golf region. The attached job description outlines the role and required skills in more detail. The role will work out of an office based at Sport South Canterbury in Timaru. This environment will provide appropriate support services from like-minded people working in the sports sector.
Although working independently, the role will have close relationships with other development roles involved in the Mainland Golf Partnership that encompasses the mid and upper South Island – the Canterbury Golf Development Manager, the Tasman Community Golf Manager, and the New Zealand Golf Club Capability Manager. This team will work in harmony to provide club capability and golf development services across the Mainland region.
